The police have cordoned off part of Gammel Køge Landevej in Copenhagen, when a group threw stones at the police.
Unrest on Friday at an Eritrean cultural festival in Copenhagen 150 detained when a group of protesters tried to attack the festival.
The party was held in function rooms on Gammel Køge Landevej in Copenhagen, and meanwhile another group from Eritrea held a demonstration outside.
When protesters at one point tried to attack the party, the police intervened, and then it developed into stone-throwing at the police around 4:30 p.m.
Approximately 150 people have been detained by the police.
This is what the head of duty at the Copenhagen Police, Henrik Brix, told Ritzau on Friday evening, after the police had gained a better overview of the situation.
There is still a demonstration at the site on Friday evening with approximately 100 participants.
Earlier on Friday, the police told Ritzau that stones were thrown at the police.
The detainees are all from the group of protesters, the warden says.
Due to the many arrests, the police had to cordon off part of Gammel Køge Landevej.
On Friday evening around 9.15 pm, however, the warden states that the last detainees are being taken to various police locations, where they will be questioned, so that the police can clarify their roles.
The police must then assess whether any of them should possibly be produced in a constitutional hearing with a view to remand.
It is the stretch between Vigerslevvej and Folehaven on Gammel Køge Landevej that is blocked off, the police said earlier in the evening.
The police do not know the cause of the conflict, but both the party and the demonstrators have a connection to Eritrea.
There is no information that anyone has been injured – neither party participants, protesters nor officers.
