Mekdes Woldu first woman to cross the finish line of this 42nd edition
What a fight for the victory of Marseille-Cassis! If Morhad Amdouni started the race with a huge pace, Félix Bour has always kept pace.
The two men were accompanied by Nicolas Navarro, the new resident of the Sco sainte Marguerite, until the first hectometres of the rise of Gineste. But the pace imposed by Amdouni cracked the last 12th in the marathon of the Tokyo Olympics.
The two remaining men then never let go despite an always formidable headwind. It was finally in the sprint that the race was decided. However more aerial, Félix Bour accelerated and let go of Amdouni who surely paid for all his efforts. For his first participation in Marseille, Bour won in 1h:01min:55s.
Great favorite of Marseille-Cassis, Mekdes Woldu has assumed her status. The French woman of Eritrean origin very quickly let go of Liv Westphal who finished second. Woldu finished the last 10 kilometers alone to win in 1h13min54s
