Eritrea re-elected for 2nd term on UN Human Rights Council

Just re-elected For 2nd term on UN Human Rights Council. 144 votes in favor. New three-year term will begin in January 2022. Congratulations to the country and people.

The candidature for re-election was endorsed by African Union’s Executive Council at 38th ordinary session.

The country emerged out of a long, difficult struggle for human rights. It believes that dialogue & cooperation, rather than confrontation and double-standards, enhance the effectiveness of global human rights mechanisms.
